Back Pain SUCCESS!!! Dr. Allen, Before my first visit with you, I suffered so much in my daily life. I had heat that radiated from my lower back, my hips, neck and back ached continuously. I have also suffered from migraine headaches since age 11. I am only in my early 40’s and felt as thought I was 80. Even my favorite activities like gardening and shopping were no longer enjoyable. I had no energy at the end of the day and spent every weekend resting and trying to recuperate from the workweek. Every night before going to sleep, my husband would rub my lower back to bring some relief so that I could fall asleep. Even lying in bed was not comfortable. My first visit with you was amazing. The treatment didn’t hurt. I was a little confused having no cracking and no pain in the actual adjustment, however, shortly after I knew something was different. Better. The next day was the real test; I woke up with energy that I haven’t felt in years. I thought it was a miracle. Not only did I enjoy cleaning my home again, afterwards I shopped for hours and still felt good enough to cook a real dinner. I have now seen you several times and my life has changed. When I first came to you for help, I was experiencing dizziness, back and neck pain, headaches, and a multitude of other annoying discomforts. I have been seeing a chiropractor about twice a week for the past year and a half. It was difficult to do daily activities like carrying groceries or lift up my son. Things like this would make my whole back and neck hurt for days. The traditional Chiropractic care I was receiving would eliminate the pain for a day or two, but it would always return. A friend of mine suggested that I try this form of Chiropractic care, it seemed to be helping her. At first I was hesitant to try or even believe how it could help. How could you get adjusted and your back feel better without cracking it? I decided to try it and I am glad I did. During my first adjustment it almost felt like blood was flowing in my back again. There was a tremendous release of pressure and almost a tingling sensation throughout my whole back. I’ve been able to hold my adjustments longer than the traditional care and I don’t get to the point of not being able to turn my head or other simple motions. I am very excited about this type of Chiropractic care because now I can have fun with my son and I don’t have to worry about whether or not I will be able to move the next day! If there are days when I start to hurt, it’s usually better the next day, whereas before I would be sore for days until I could get an adjustment. I was very skeptical when I first learned about NUCCA because Chiropractors had been a regular part of my life for about 12 years. It seemed regular Chiropractic just didn’t “last”. Within several days I would hurt as badly as before I went for an adjustment. This was different though! Constant headaches were a part of my daily life. My lower back hurt continuously to the point of nausea. There was always fear of twisting too much or stretching the wrong way. No more. My headaches are completely gone. My back feels great! I would recommend for anyone to try N.U.C.C.A, from age 0 to 100. My youngest son, Lleyton, age 6 months, has been seeing DR Allen from 19 days old. Lleyton was born with a hole in his heart between his two ventricles (the bottom two chambers), making it very difficult for him to gain weight. He ended up having surgery on the 16th of January to repair the hole. Since surgery Lleyton has gained 4 pounds in two months. Prior to surgery he had only gained a pound and a half since birth, three and a half months. Lleyton is holding his adjustment for over a month now and will probably only need to be seen a few times a year. When I first came to Precision Spinal Care, my back constantly hurt! I could not sit anywhere, comfortably, for very long. I always felt like I needed to try and twist my back to stop the pain. I have had this problem for over 20 years! I would go through periods where my back felt OK for a while, but the pain and acheyness always returned. I never did go to a Chiropractor for fear that my back problem would be made worse. (I had heard horror stories from several friends.) About 8 years ago, my back gave in -- It was a painful experience. I laid inside of my front door on the floor for 3 days. My doctor said "Take pain killer". Well, it did not help. After that I went through many sessions of "physical therapy". After each session I felt better, but by the next day the pain came back. A friend of mine told me about a Chiropractic doctor. He is a wonderful and very skillful doctor. He helped me a great deal. My back had improved over the years. I visited him every 1-2 months. After several years of treatment, my biggest problem is at my right shoulder. My lower back was actually very good. The only problem I have is that when something goes wrong, it just gets worse and worse Then, a wonderful thing happened. My wife met Allen in a church-sponsored volleyball team. Allen introduced the concept of NUCCA to my wife. My wife and I watch the video tapes Allen loaned to us. To be honest, I was very skeptical. Comparing the two approaches, while I like and benefited tremendously from my Chiropractic doctor who is one of the best in his field, I prefer NUCCA because it allows my body to naturally correct itself, at least attempt to. SUCCESS!!! Dear Dr. Allen, I am writing this letter as a big “thank you” to one of the truly finest doctors in the world. I feel it is a great honor just being introduced to you, let alone being able to be treated by such an incredible individual. Your knowledge about life in general is as intense and vast as your knowledge in your career. I am 52 years old and had sometimes excruciating back pain for about 6 months before a dear friend told me about your services. Throughout the years I had seen many doctors, chiropractors, physical therapists, etc. This time in my life, I was just receiving no relief whatsoever. After you are in severe pain and can’t do many things in life that were “normal” everyday tasks, I was at the end of my rope. Even finding the horrible thought of suicide creeping into my mind. My first visit to Dr. Allen found my with my wonderful parents who drove me from Greeley to Fort Collins because it hurt so bad just to get in and out of a vehicle, let alone drive. Walked into his office with my cane and was taken aback with the great hospitality and friendliness. The patience Dr. Allen had (has) was incredible and I felt he was truly listening to my sob story. I was very, very skeptical with the whole chiropractic procedure, but it disappeared after experiencing the treatments and learning more abut NUCCA. After a few months of treatments, we were discussing why I would feel good for a few days, then something as simple as a sneeze would send me back to square one with the pain. He mentioned a herniated disc and the only way to find out was by having and MRI done. Daruen was sharp enough to realize there was something more going on and strongly recommended having one done. Even though the pain increased when I laid flat on my back, I’m so, so very glad he was on top of the situation. They found not a herniated disc, but three compressed fractures in my spine. Two were moderate and one was severe. I was told that they were caused from a bad fall (which I had done in July 2003-6 months previously) and/or osteoporosis. At least we knew more about what was going on with this old body. Between taking many more vitamin supplements, walking and Dr. Allen’s treatments, I am getting better day-by-day. Dr. Allen’s advice to walk as much as I could has really helped and every time I do, his words come to mind, “If you don’t use it, you’re gonna lose it.” I so look forward to seeing Dr. Allen because at times, I’ve felt like he has in a way been my personal psychiatrist, because of his listening skills and “bedside manner”. My story begins in the summer/fall of 2002. It started as lower back pain and promptly became a sciatic nerve condition affecting my left hip and leg. Everything I tried didn’t provide relief. Finally, in November with debilitating pain, I sought treatment from a surgeon; to no avail. Again in March of 2003, I had surgery on my lower back for this condition. Neither surgery was beneficial. After the second surgery, I resolved myself to living with the pain, but it became unbearable. Painkillers were the only way I could get through the day. Some mornings the only way I could get out of bed was to roll out on all fours! Even then the first couple hours the pain was excruciating! One small patch of black ice, a freakish fall of major proportions, and thus began a very unwelcome journey. My journey into pain and disability changed our marriage, and our valued lifestyle. I suffered for over 7 years with pain in my lower back, leg, side, knee and neck. I have tried everything from numerous chiropractors, physical therapists, massage therapists, to pain management spinal injections, acupuncture, MRI and CT scans and have found very little relief. They all told me that I was normal and that I just have to take pain medication and to be patient on how my body will heal with time. Well, time just took too long and I was very frustrated with my daily pain. I am only in my 40’s and felt like 80 some days. I was limited to what I could do. To Fellow Sufferers, How much of our suffering do we cause, often unknowingly to ourselves, and how much is out of our control? These are questions I found answers to in the Precision Spinal Care office, and those answers released me from a lot of my suffering. Skeptic is my first name, my father being a physician. But like anyone in chronic disabling pain, you desperately search for answers and a cure. To my rational mind, I didn’t see how adjusting my neck could affect my lower back, physics or not. But, after four surgeries all aimed to alleviate the chronic and often severe lower back pain, and years of physical therapy, a decade of disability I decided to give it a try, feeling led by God this time. Adjustment, after adjustment coupled with advice ranging from, “Don’t sleep on your stomach, think about a new bed, to don’t push so far on your exercises” and I began seeing results. Before I started seeing him I was diagnosed with two swollen disks in my lower back. The pain in my back, sciatic and knees were unbearable. I was unable to walk up stairs without tearing up from the pain. The moment I walked into the office I could feel the warmth and caring atmosphere. I appreciated Dr. Allen spending the time to talk to me and most of all listening. I could tell right away I was in the right place. After my first treatment I got up feeling great. But the test was the stairs. So we went out back and I was able to climb the stairs without any pain. I was amazed. I did have a minor set back at one point. Before coming to Precision Spinal Care, I was in and out of the chiropractic office in Laramie two to three times a week. My lower back was so bad, I was unable to work for a week. During this time, I came to this office; after coaxing from my mom, who had already been here. With my first appointment I did not know what to think. I had brought my fiancé with me. The two of us were just starting to experience the wonder of the NUCCA method with Dr. Huff when we went to pick up our daughter from a camp she was attending above Fort Collins. Our daughter is in a wheel chair, and the night before there had been an accident where she was tipped over in her chair. Following the good results that my mother had with NUCCA and Dr. Huff, I decided to give it a try. During the past 15 years I have broken my back in three different areas on three different accidents that resulted in very limited neck movement, not being able to lift my arms up for any length of time without making them numb and achy and sitting in one position for any length of time made my legs numb and hard to walk on. I have been to one of the best back specialists in Colorado and was informed that there was nothing they could do without severe complications and that I would just have to live with what I had. One orthopedic surgeon wanted to sign my disability papers for me. Following the first treatment I was driving back to Laramie, WY and went to turn around to speak to my mom in the back seat when I suddenly realized that I had turned just my head around, and not my whole upper body to look at her. I can now run my heavy equipment without any leg numbness or pain, and can turn my head side to side. I still can’t believe that the gentle manner in which Dr. Huff provides treatment can do so much. People that I am around during my workdays have noticed the change and inquired about what I had done and I have given them the folders, tapes and CDs. Dave Hall SUCCESS!!! You will have no regrets when you’re done! DeAnn – Nebraska SUCCESS!!! My Story: God brought me to Dr. Allen Huff on Sept of 2002 at the age of 27. At that time I was in sever pain and barely able to walk. I had started taking pain pills two days before to help with the pain, but I was still unable to walk much. In August, my back had gone out and I saw my 3rd chiropractor in one year. And at that time, a friend of my husband’s was seeing Dr. Huff and really liked him. I just wasn’t ready. The medical part of me didn’t see how this process of no snap, crackle, popping was going to work. But by September I decided to give it a try. Dr. Huff was amazing! He was so patient and kept working on me all day to help me feel better. In September I also went and saw two other physicians – one gave me steroids and the other wanted to do surgery. I had already had a laminectomy on January of 2000 and did not want another. My MRI in October showed that I had a herniated disk with moderate stenosis at L4-L5. I had what felt like PMS and needles going down my right leg. But thanks to Dr. Huff’s patience and care, I am now able to function fairly normally. I am currently able to workout and I do so at least four times a week. I am also able to pick-up and play with my 2 ½ year old son and take care of my patients. Because my back injury was so serious, I know that my process to 100% is a slow one, but I thank God everyday that he showed me to Dr. Huff’s door. He is truly an instrument of God. I don’t even know how to start this, because there is so much I want to say about what I have been through, and how God & Dr. Matt have helped me! So I guess I will just start with a little of my history! At age 38 I was a very active, hardworking man. I worked a full time job, and owned and operated my own lawn care business that I worked on nights and weekends. I played very hard. My hobbies were hunting, fishing, riding ATV’s and motorcycles. My dad always said if I were to get cut, I would bleed gasoline! On June 7, 1997, all of this came to an end. I had an ATV accident that sent me on a journey that I wish no one had to go through. First of all, this accident was my fault, not the ATV’s. I was diagnosed with a severe compression fracture to my T-11 vertebrae, a broken tailbone, and several bruised and cracked ribs. I was off work from June 1997 to February 1998, the whole time with extreme constant pain. I under went many tests and many hours of therapy, and consumed a great amount of pain medicine. Finally with the help of a tens unit, I was able to get the pain under control and return to work. I got along fine until October 1998 when I started having back trouble again. At that time I started doctoring again. Finally after many hours of therapy and several epidural injections to no avail, I finally gave in to major lower back surgery in May of 1999. I was fused at L5-S1. This was a 7½ hour surgery with a six month recovery time. I got along great, the feeling came back into my legs and I got rid of most of the pain. I felt so good that after 3 months I went back to work fulltime. I had quit doing the lawn work so I was just doing my full time job. I got along pretty good for about a year and then the symptoms returned, and stared to worsen as time went on. I worked off and on until March 21, 2001, during this time period I probably only worked about half of the time. On March 21, 2001 I went home from work early not knowing that I would not return! Over this time I had undergone many tests and treatments again. I saw several medical doctors and chiropractors. Again I surrendered to major back surgery, because they thought the fusion had come loose, which it had. After this surgery I never did get to feeling better. My right leg was numb all of the time, and I lost some of the control of my right leg. I was in severe pain night and day. The pain could be anywhere in my back. It even started hurting in my upper back and neck… I would get headaches almost every day. Because of the situation with my leg, I had to start walking with a cane. I continued to go to many different doctors and chiropractors over the last few years. Finally they decided that I had severe disc degeneration disease, and that there was nothing they could surgically or medically do for me. About all they could offer was more narcotic pain medicine and an exercise program. I tried very hard to exercise, but when you are in constant pain, you are not able to exercise much. I was on an unbelievable amount of percocet pain medicine, muscle relaxers and for fifteen months I went to our local hospital everyday for 150mg of demoral injections! I guess by now you might have figured out how much pain I was in, and how it affected my life. I had tried many, many different treatments with no long-term relief. Finally some dear friends, Sandy & Duane Krey told us about Dr. Matt and how much relief Sandy had gotten from the NUCCA treatments. I was very skeptical and also very depressed, not thinking anything would help me at this point. I was ready to give up, and I mean totally! But with the encouragement of Duane & Sandy, and my wife Donna, whom I must say has been very supportive of me through all of this! I decided to try Dr. Matt and this treatment. Man am I glad I did. I promised Duane, Sandy, Donna and myself that I would try this and go into it with a positive attitude. I would give all I have because I wanted to get my life back and be able to do things with my family that I hadn’t done in several years. I believe that God guided me to Dr. Matt! Over the years our church, my parent’s church, and many friends and family have flooded God with prayers on my behalf. I am a firm believer that prayer is the strongest medicine going! I feel that this was God’s answer to all of the prayers. Now I would like to tell you about Dr. Matt and his practice. First of all, I have never met a doctor other than Ramona McCarthy that showed such a genuine concern for their patients as what Dr. Matt and his partner Dr. Allen do! From the start Dr. Matt took the time to listen to my symptoms and hear about the treatments I had gone through, never making me feel rushed or like we were just another office call. He explained the procedure and treatment very clearly, and in a way that we could understand it! When I went to see Dr. Matt the first time, I was in the most pain I had been in, and I didn’t think I could hurt and worse. But Dr. Matt told me after the first treatment that I would be tired, sore and hungry. He was right, but should have doubled up on the sore part. I got my treatment on a Friday, and was very sore and in a lot of pain until about mid afternoon on Sunday, when it started improving and it just kept getting better. I got my first treatment in February, and have not taken a pain shot since. I also dropped to 2 or 3 percocet a day, and haven’t had to take depression or sleeping pills at all!!! Since the end of March I haven’t even had to take any percocet. I have had a treatment every two weeks until the last two months, when we went once a month! I have not walked with a cane since March…man what a blessing! Everything has truly been a miracle. I encourage anyone that has any back or neck pain to try this treatment. I have helped several people to get started with this, possibly 30 to 40 people, and each one has gotten some noticeable relief. I am finishing this letter on June 29th, and to this date I have not had to take the percocet or muscle relaxers, or go for a pain shot at the hospital. What a blessing! God had used Dr. Matt and Dr. Allen to give many people the pain relief they need, and I know they will be richly blessed for it. I cannot leave out Amber, who is very helpful and friendly. She is a lot of fun to talk to, and knows her job very well! She takes care of the office and scheduling. Thanks Amber you are great! In closing, I would like to say, if you hurt, try this treatment! It works and I would be glad to talk to anybody about this and I highly recommend it. I was at the end of my rope, and Dr. Matt and this treatment gave me a new lease on life. I am thankful to Duane & Sandy for encouraging me to try this. Thank you does not seem like enough to say to Dr. Matt, but I do believe God is using him to help people have a better quality of life. I suffered for years with back, leg and neck pain. It got to the point where I could not get out of bed or up from a chair without help. I also had ringing in my ears and walking became almost impossible. A friend told me about Dr. Huff and NUCCA. Well, I was very skeptical at first, but then the thought of having no pain won over my skepticism. After my first treatment, I had no neck pain what so ever. I rested for 15 minutes and then went back in for my second treatment. My back pain and the pain in my leg were gone and for the first time in years I was able to lie down and sit up by myself. I could kneel on the floor and get up with no help; it was the most wonderful feeling. Another benefit! The ringing in my ears is almost gone. When I first went to Precision Spinal Care, I was apprehensive. With the first treatment I noticed a great improvement in my neck, and my back felt much better.
